La vacuna de Oxford será muy segura para adultos mayores
Los ensayos clínicos en Fase 2 arrojan un 99% de inmunidad en los mayores
La vacuna está a punto de entrar en Fase 3, la última. La carrera de las vacunas está en su máximo apogeo. Si hace dos semanas conocíamos que la Vacuna de Pfizer conseguía una inmunidad del 90%, y que empezaría a ser distribuida dentro de poco, luego vino el anuncio de la Vacuna de Moderna, que alcanzaba el 95% de inmunidad contra la epidemia. Ahora, la encargada de mover ficha ha sido la vacuna que se está fabricando en la Universidad de Oxford, en colaboración con la farmaceútica AstraZeneca. Según los últimos reportes publicados en «The Lancet», en la Fase 2 en la que se encuentra el fármaco, se ha demostrado hasta un 99% de eficacio con ls mayores de 70 años. Algunos efectos leves que se han experimentado después de la administración de la vacuna son de carácter leve, como dolor de cabeza, fiebre o dolor muscular. La Vacuna de Oxford entrará dentro de poco en la Fase 3, la última antes de poder ser distribuida.
